Diving French Polynesia: Moorea

Truly, one of the high points of the trip was when this ten-foot lemon shark came crusing through our group. We had been at Oponohu Canyons for a pretty disappointing shark feeding. Only a few blacktips came in at first. We had actually seen many more sharks on previous dives, without having the divemaster bribe them with food. But just as the water was getting too turbid to see very well and we were losing interest, three big lemon sharks came circling in. This was the largest among them and her size alone was enough to get our hearts pumping. She was so graceful but when she got hold of some fish she was fast and powerful, gone in an instant.
