Green Sea Turtle

There were many turtles, mostly green and hawskbills. This green sea turtle is being pursued for a picture by another diver from The Deep Blue.

We found this one at a dive site called Galapagos Shark at Wolf Island. This was one of our favorite dives. Lots of work with currents and surge but an amazing dive. I think I probably saw more big marine animals on this 36-minute dive than most of my previous 25-plus years of diving combined. It was like a life-and-death Disney ride.

Even the pangha rides here were a workout. Between the island and a smaller island called The Elephant we were tossed around in the tiny dive inflatables by disorganized eight-foot waves coming from all directions. Getting back into the boat in that kind of sea was an exhausting workout.

But well worth it.
