Hammerhead Shark

We found this and many other hammerheads on our second morning dive during our second day Darwin's Arch. We dropped quickly from the pangha and tried to settle out of the currents in the protection of the large lava boulders at "The Theatre."

The hammerheads were lining up and swimming within just a few feet of us. As a group we tried to stay somewhat together so that our exhaust bubbles were more concentrated and, hopefully, less frightening to the sharks.

You can also see the huge aggregations of smaller fish enjoying all the tasty tidbits that these currents bring with them.
