Peacock Flounder on the Sand
Each of the creatures on the reef has its tools for survival. Some help them find and catch food, some help them evade predators. The aptly named peacock flounder’s camouflage helps him hide from predator and prey alike. He spends most of his time out on the open and unprotected sand surrounding the reef. A potentially dangerous environment. But he is almost impossible to spot as he lays on motionless on the sand.
