Gray Angelfish

The gray angelfish is often found in mated pairs among the reefs. Its wide and flat body make it a difficult catch for piscivores – fish that eat other fish.

We found this one on Tedran reef among the gorgonias.

As adults, angelfish are among the few fish that eat sponges. But as juveniles, the gray angels often act as cleaner fish, picking parasites off other fish.
