Saba Island Diving: Dutch Treasures

Soapfish

Part of the seabass family, the soafish’s body is covered with mucus that creates soap-like bubbles when the fish is handled.

 

They usually rest during the day, like this one at Hot Springs reef, and forage at night. When found resting like this they almost seem sick or sleeping.
