Among our first dives in Belize, we were treated to the steep canyons of Tres Cocos reef off Ambergris Caye.

This is a relaxing and beautiful reef that begins in about 50 feet of water, with these narrow canyons -- carpeted with white sand -- running down to around 80 feet and beyond.
