We had four days in the southern village of Placencia. Many signs of Hurricane Iris remained. Although some had rebuilt, or partly rebuilt, debris was virtually everywhere. This area was gaining popularity before the October, 2001, storm hit the area, capsizing and killing all 28 divers and crew on the live-aboard dive boat, Wave Dancer, which had moored here for protection from the storm. |
