On this reef off Ambergris Caye I photographed this hawksbill turtle that wouldn't sit still but moved slowly enough to make a few images. This turtle had an unusual orange color on the front of its carapace. As we began this dive, I thought that the nitrogen build-up from all the repetitive diving this day would drive us from the water. Instead, all the exertion from chasing rays and turtles consumed our air before we ran short of bottom time. This was a lively -- and lovely -- dive. |
